Shawerma with Tahina El Rashidi El Mizan


  • 1 kilo meat, finely shredded
  • Juice of 1 onion
  • Salt, pepper and shawerma spices (available in supermarkets)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • Vinegar
  • Oil
  • 2 diced onions
  • 2 seedless tomatoes, diced
  • 2 diced onions {repeated twice in the Arabic version}
  • 1 cup parsley, minced
  • For the Tahina:
  • 1 cup Tahina El Rashidi El Mizan
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt, pepper and cumin
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ½ cup water


In a bowl add the shredded meat, juice of the onion, salt, pepper, shawerma spices and yogurt then mix well. Put in the fridge for 12 hours till completely seasoned. Heat oil in a pan then add the meat and stir well till it absorbs all water. Add the diced onions, tomatoes and parsley while stirring. Stuff bread with the meat and add Tahina El Rashidi El Mizan.

For the Tahina:
Add Tahina El Rashidi El Mizan, minced garlic, salt, cumin, pepper, vinegar and water then mix well.
